Tamara Austin, LSW

Tamara Austin, LSW identifies as a Black, Queer Woman, and works with clients to help them claim their spaces in the world unapologetically. In addition to being a Licensed Social Worker in Pennsylvania, Tamara is also a Certified Life Coach and a Certified Mediation Therapist with over 20 years of experience as a Therapist.

Tamara is a great fit for you if you have been struggling to find out who you want to be, how you want to feel, or what you want to do regarding work, relationships, and other significant aspects of your daily life.

One of your goals when working with Tamara could be to move from a space where you may feel frozen, “stuck” or confused, towards a place where you have more clarity or confidence, and become energized about possibilities for your life.

Tamara takes an intersectional approach to mental health therapy, and has a deep passion for helping individuals work through traumatic life events and other emotionally painful experiences that have contributed to depression, anxiety, stress, and issues in their relationships. This intersectional therapy approach looks at how all of your identities inform your decision making and the coping responses you have used to survive your lived experiences. People who receive individual therapy from Tamara discover and engage in the action of developing the best life for them to thrive.

Tamar holds a Social Justice Certification from Emory University, a Masters of Science from UPENN, and a Certification in Advanced Clinical Practice and Forensic Mental Health from New York University.
