Finding Healing in a Space That Gets You

Self-esteem therapy is a space to unpack the quiet (or loud) voice in your head that tells you you’re not enough. It’s for the person who second-guesses every decision, over-apologizes, shrinks in rooms they worked hard to be in, or ties their worth to productivity, appearance, or other people’s approval. In therapy, we look at where those beliefs came from — family messages, cultural expectations, past relationships, systemic bias — and begin to gently challenge them.

Self-esteem therapy helps you build a more grounded sense of who you are, separate from performance or perfection. It supports you in setting boundaries without guilt, speaking up without spiraling, and seeing yourself with more compassion and clarity. If you’re tired of feeling like you have to earn your worth, this work is for you.

Meet Jisu Pyo

Jisu Pyo (she/her) is a Korean-American therapist in Pennsylvania who provides therapy in both English and Korean. With lived experience as an immigrant and a deep understanding of cultural identity, intergenerational pressure, and the first-gen experience, she offers a compassionate space for clients navigating self-esteem, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and relationship challenges.

Jisu specializes in therapy for Asian-American and Person of Color communities, using a trauma-informed, multicultural lens. She integrates CBT and mindfulness to support clients through self-esteem concerns, academic or career stress, and bicultural identity work — all with warmth, respect, and a sliding scale for those who qualify.

A Space to Unpack What Doesn’t Serve You

Self-esteem therapy isn’t about pretending you’re confident. It’s about building a steadier, more compassionate relationship with yourself. When your self-worth has been shaped by criticism, comparison, cultural pressure, or past hurt, it can quietly influence everything — your relationships, career choices, boundaries, and even how you talk to yourself. Therapy gives you a space to untangle those patterns, understand where they started, and practice new ways of thinking and responding that feel more aligned and self-respecting.

Over time, self-esteem therapy can help you feel less reactive to rejection, less dependent on validation, and more secure in your decisions.

It’s not about becoming someone new. It’s about feeling more at home in who you already are.

We Accept Some Insurance:

The practice is in-network with some plans from Aetna, Meritain, Highmark, Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Anthem, Quest Behavioral Health, and Federal Employee Program.

If you are unsure if we are an in-network provider for your plan, feel free to contact us for more information. We offer the courtesy of assisting all potential clients with mental health benefits verification for insurances that we accept. This is because we understand how difficult it is to find a therapist who accepts insurance, and figure out the cost of therapy using insurance benefits on your specific plan.

We also recommend that you check with your health insurance provider to confirm if we are in-network with your insurance and to verify the mental health benefits on your specific insurance plan.

For insurance plans that we are not in network with, we can offer you a Superbill at the end of an appointment for you to submit for any out of network benefits you may have.
