Finding Healing in a Space That Gets You
Meet Jisu Pyo
Jisu Pyo (she/her) is a Korean-American therapist in Pennsylvania who provides therapy in both English and Korean. With lived experience as an immigrant and a deep understanding of cultural identity, intergenerational pressure, and the first-gen experience, she offers a compassionate space for clients navigating self-esteem, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and relationship challenges.
Jisu specializes in therapy for Asian-American and Person of Color communities, using a trauma-informed, multicultural lens. She integrates CBT and mindfulness to support clients through self-esteem concerns, academic or career stress, and bicultural identity work — all with warmth, respect, and a sliding scale for those who qualify.
A Space to Unpack What Doesn’t Serve You
Change has a way of surfacing everything — old insecurities, unresolved grief, family expectations, self-doubt. Life transitions therapy helps you make sense of what’s coming up instead of pushing through it alone.
The benefits often include feeling more grounded during uncertainty, clearer about your values and direction, and less reactive to stress. Therapy can help you separate external pressure from your own desires, so the next chapter of your life feels chosen — not forced.
You don’t have to have all the answers right now. Therapy can help you tolerate the unknown long enough to find them.
Signs You May Benefit from Life Transitions Counseling

You Are Not Alone. Your Life Story Is Still Being Written.
We Accept Some Insurance:
The practice is in-network with some plans from Aetna, Meritain, Highmark, Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Anthem, and Federal Employee Program.
If you are unsure if we are an in-network provider for your plan, feel free to contact us for more information. We offer the courtesy of assisting all potential clients with mental health benefits verification for insurances that we accept. This is because we understand how difficult it is to find a therapist who accepts insurance, and figure out the cost of therapy using insurance benefits on your specific plan.
We also recommend that you check with your health insurance provider to confirm if we are in-network with your insurance and to verify the mental health benefits on your specific insurance plan.
For insurance plans that we are not in network with, we can offer you a Superbill at the end of an appointment for you to submit for any out of network benefits you may have.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What is life transition counseling?
Life transition therapy is a type of counseling that helps you navigate major changes in your life — whether they’re expected or unexpected. These transitions can impact your identity, relationships, routine, and sense of stability. Therapy gives you a space to process what’s changing, manage stress or uncertainty, and move forward in a way that feels grounded and intentional.
What are the four types of life transitions?
Life transitions are often grouped into four main categories:
- Developmental transitions – Natural life stages like becoming a parent, aging, or entering a new phase of adulthood.
- Situational transitions – Specific events such as moving, changing jobs, starting or ending a relationship.
- Health-related transitions – Changes related to physical or mental health, including diagnosis, recovery, or burnout.
- Unexpected transitions – Sudden or unplanned events like loss, trauma, or major disruptions that shift your life direction.
When should I consider life transitions therapy?
You might consider life transitions therapy if you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or unsure of who you are after a change. Even positive transitions can bring stress or self-doubt. Therapy can help you process your emotions, adjust to your new reality, and build clarity around what comes next.
How can life transitions therapy help me?
Life transitions therapy can help you feel more grounded during periods of change, understand your emotional responses, and develop tools to cope with uncertainty. It also supports you in exploring your identity, setting boundaries, and making decisions that align with your values — so your next chapter feels intentional, not forced.
