Catriana Pineiro is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor. As a Latina Therapist with South American and Puerto Rican heritage, Catriana understands the stigma and challenges that first-generation, LGBTQ+ populations, and people with bi-cultural identities face when seeking mental health therapy.

Catriana is a dynamic therapist who understands that not every Person of Color, Latino, or Hispanic individual is the same, with knowledge of how cultural and geographical histories shape intergenerational patterns. This allows Catriana to have a therapy approach that is a blend of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and person-centered approaches tailored to your specific needs and therapy goals. Catriana will also utilize culturally affirming, trauma-informed therapy techniques. This incorporates empathy and active listening to create a safe environment for you to navigate your thoughts and emotions while addressing unhelpful behaviors.
Catriana received a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling from Chestnut Hill College with a specialization in Child and Adolescent Therapy, which serves her well as a teen therapist in Philadelphia. She also has a Master of Arts in Psychology from New York University. They have experience providing trauma-informed care for a variety of populations ranging from children to elder adults in a community mental health setting. They are under the clinical supervision of Nicola Pierre-Smith, LPC.
