Jisu Pyo
Jisu Pyo (She/her) is a Korean-American Therapist in Pennsylvania. She understands the challenges of navigating cultural identity, intergenerational expectations, and finding a sense of belonging. Her lived experience as a immigrant to the United States as a child, informs her deep commitment to supporting the Black and Asian-American community to explore identity, self-worth, and the balance between cultures.
Jisu is fluent in both Korean and English. While she primarily provides counseling in English, she welcomes clients who may feel more comfortable expressing certain thoughts or emotions in Korean.

Jisu believes therapy can be a powerful space for healing, growth, and self-discovery. Her work is grounded in trauma-informed and multicultural approaches, which she tailors to meet the needs of each unique client. She also integrates mindfulness-based practices, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in a warm, non-judgmental, compassionate way. This allows clients who work with her to feel seen, validated, and empowered to heal and grow at their own pace.
Jisu earned her Master of Science in Community and Trauma Counseling from Thomas Jefferson University, where she focused on working with diverse and underserved communities. She has experience supporting adolescents, emergent adults, and families from multicultural backgrounds in the high school and outpatient settings. Jisu is supervised by Nicola Pierre-Smith, LPC.
Jisu offers appointments in-person and virtually, and has immediate income-based sliding scale availability. That is, if your annual income is below $45,000 and she is not in-network with your insurance, the sliding scale rate for each Individual Therapy appointments is $95.
