Andrea Durnell-Grady, LSW

Andrea Durnell-Grady, LSW is a licensed social worker with a passion for helping adults, young people, children, and families from all backgrounds. Andrea has many years of experience providing therapy in Philadelphia at outpatient agencies and schools. She has a passion for helping people deal with life transitions, mood management, emotions regulation, and family conflicts or issues in the parent-child relationship.

Andrea establishes a safe, supportive, and nurturing space for people of all ages to heal from trauma and issues such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and behavioral concerns. Andrea may be a good fit for you if you are looking for a Black therapist or Person of Color counselor to honor your lived experiences, while creating structure to heal, grow and learn healthy coping skills.

Though Andrea is formally trained in many treatment approaches, she works collaboratively with clients as a way to help them practice skills for communicating their needs in a relationship. This collaborative approach to psychotherapy helps clients who are receiving mental health therapy from Andrea develop healthier problem solving and coping skills to thrive in his/her/their daily life.

Though Andrea is trained in evidenced based treatment approaches such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based interventions, she will work with you to identify the best approach for your healing journey.

Andrea Durnell-Grady, LSW graduated from Bryn Mawr College School of Social Work and Social Research in 2018, and is working towards her clinical license under the supervision of Jenn Curren, LCSW.
